What is the Driver Calendar screen?
The driver calendar screen is also known as the working time directive (WTD) screen.
When you go into the driver calendar you will notice that there are a lot of boxes. Each box represents a working day for the driver (dates appear at the top) This will appear like below:
These boxes display for a 2 week period and you can change the dates being displayed within the top right.
Adding a Holiday/Sick Day
Whenever you right click a date box within the Driver calendar screen you get a number of options. The options are seen below:
- Add a Sick day
- Add Statutory holiday
- Add other holiday
- Remove entry
- Add training/other work
- Add manual entry
If you select a Monday and add a WTD entry you will be asked if you want to fill in the rest of the week. This will fill in the entire week with the same entry in one click.
If you see a black outline on one of these icons it means the driver has an infringement for this day. Clicking on the square will open up the detail trace view for the selected day and list details of the infringement(s).
What do the colours/icons mean?
Each entry on the driver calendar screen means something different which can be overwhelming at first.
To make things simple, anything green is data assigned to the driver. We have then added additional icons for WTD recognised events.
What is the difference between holiday and other holiday?
WTD regulations state a driver must record 20 days of holidays per year. Under UK law you are entitled to a minimum of 28 (some companies offer more).
A holiday in WTD counts as 8 hours per day (or 48 hours for 5 consecutive days) against total worked time.
To help with this, we have Holiday and Other Holiday in the calendar.
A holiday is one of the 20 required days per year, and contributes 8 hours as above.
An Other Holiday contributes zero hours to working time so can be used to balance your drivers hours.
